Mary Justine Shimel, 86, of Tiffin, died Friday morning, August 16, 2013, at St. Francis Home.

She was born June 27, 1927, in Tiffin, to John and Eva Fern (Cooper) Sullivan. On Aug. 18, 1961, she married Byron H. Shimel and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Holly (Craig) Laskey of Michigan; two sons, Mike (Pamela) Biller of Utah and Larry (Deborah) Shimel, of Maumee; step children Darrell (Norma) Shimel and Janet (Robert) Byerly, both of California, 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, and three grandchildren.

Mary was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She retired in 1987 from Mercy Hospital, Grayling, Michigan, where she worked as a registered nurse. Mary loved reading, playing the piano, holidays with family, and visiting with friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Harmony United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow in Mexico Cemetery, Wyandot County.
