Mary M. Shimer, 84, of Tiffin, died Monday morning, July 7, 2008, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

April 26, 1924, she was born in Tiffin to Anthony and Adeline (Ricci) Ruggiero. January 31, 1945, she married Robert E. Shimer in St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert T. 'Tim' (Lisa) Shimer of Chalfont, PA, three daughters, Kathleen M. (Dennis) Tischler of Port Clinton, Diane M. (Robert) Reineck of Northville, MI, Barbara M. (Bill) Mesnard of Green Springs, two brothers, Frank (Mary) Ruggiero, Tony Ruggiero, both of Tiffin, three sisters, Leona Porter of St. George, UT, Maggie (Joe) Aiello, Lucy (Mac) McClellan, both of Tiffin, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband in 1984, are two brothers, Ben and Dan Ruggiero, five sisters, Molly Aiello, Ann Kiesel, Grace Mangiola, Alice Burkart, Pat Klopp and a grandson.

Mary enjoyed making crafts and floral designs. She grew up in Tiffin, moved to Fremont with her husband and they later returned to Tiffin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 11, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family 6-8 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
