Mary Jane Williams, 83, of Tiffin, died Sunday morning, October 11, 2009 at her residence.
On March 28, 1926 in Tiffin, she was born to Harry E. and Gertrude (Brown) Smith. She married Glenn L. Williams on May 12, 1945.
Survivors include a daughter, Rochelle (Don) Gaietto of Republic, sons, Ron (Renee) Williams of Old Fort; Greg (Monna) Williams, Randy Williams, Scott (Jayne) Williams all of Tiffin; brothers, Robert L. Smith and James A. (Joanne) Smith, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glenn on July 4, 1989, brothers, Harry E. Smith Jr., William R. Smith, 2 infant brothers, and a sister, Patricia Ann Gibson.
Mary Jane was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a 1944 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. She worked at IGA for over 5 years in Tiffin, a member of the Melmore Pinochle Club for many years, Daughter's of America, and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was an avid sports fan for all the area and state teams, Cub Scout Den Mother, enjoyed gardening and canning. Mary Jane had a strong belief in God and her faith. She had an unconditional love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 5-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St. 419-447-2424 and on Wednesday at church from 10-11 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Community Hospice Care.
