Maxwell R. "Max" Oliver, 19, of Republic, passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2016.
He was born on May 19, 1997, in Fremont, Ohio, to James "Jim'and Kathy (Overmyer) Oliver.
He is the beloved son of James and Kathy Oliver of Republic; beloved brother of Gabie Oliver of Republic; and beloved grandson of Royce M. "Dick" and Patricia A. Overmyer, of Green Springs and the late Robert and Thelma Oliver.
He is also survived by his aunts, Julie Oliver and Joan Oliver, both of Fremont, Bonnie (Don) Rhine, of Greenwich; uncle, John Oliver of Fremont, and his girlfriend, Abigail Rose of Baltimore, MD. He had many cousins near and far, including Zariyah Baynard of Fremont; Krystle Fick, Tony Kashlut, Ben Rhine, Tom Rhine, and Jake Rhine.
Max attended Old Fort Schools and recently graduated from Ohio Virtual Academy in 2016. He started his own business, Oliver Community Services, LLC, in 2016. Max was a talented musician, playing the guitar, bass and drums, even giving lessons. He was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church where he was involved in the church band, he helped with harvest parties, egg hunts, movie nights, breakfast every Sunday and vacation Bible school. Church and music were very important to Max. He was involved with Monday night worship service at Heidelberg University, enjoyed volunteering, and was very eager to help anyone. Max was an animal lover of Scooter and Chip his dogs and Eve, his cat and was very generous, kind hearted and loved by many.
His Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Old Fort United Methodist Church, 8245 N. Main Street, Old Fort, Ohio 44861, with Pastor Marc Quinter officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Thursday at Old Fort United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Old Fort United Methodist Church or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
