Megan Kathleen Bish-Ritter, 30, of Chatfield and Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening November 21, 2012 as the result of an auto accident in Kremmling, CO.
She was born on March 19, 1982 in Tiffin to Gregg and Elaine (Starr) Bish.
Survivors include her mother, Elaine (Jim) Houck formerly of Tiffin, presently of Steamboat Springs, CO; father, Gregg W. (Gretchen) Bish formerly of Tiffin, presently of Fremont, MI; grandmother, Mabel Starr of Tiffin; brothers Brandon G. Bish of Lawrenceville, GA, Specialist Ryan A. Bish, 101st Airborn of Fort Campbell, KY and Sean C. Bish of Steamboat Springs, CO; half-brothers and sisters, Christian, John and Connor Bish, all of Fremont, MI and Stephanie Shiffer of Columbus, OH; step-sister, Aspen Houck of Bradenton, FL; and step-brother, Mike Ward of New Riegel, OH and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merle Starr and Kenneth and Kathleen Bish all of Tiffin.
Megan graduated from Mohawk High School in 2000 where she was a member of the Honor Society and from Southern Ohio College of Nursing, in Findlay, OH, where she graduated class Valedictorian and became an LPN. While in high school she was the wrestling statistician and played softball for 4 years and she was also involved in theater productions and dance. She was planning to move to the Denver area to be with friends and family. She enjoyed beading and jewelry making, art and drawing. She loved taking care of her pets and critters, many of them rescued animals. Megan had a passion for the outdoors; loved fishing, swimming, gardening, outdoor music concerts, campfires and evening sunsets.
Megan was a very compassionate people person; helping in the care of elderly neighbors, her grandmother, and had worked in a local nursing home, helped to deliver babies for friends and family, and was furthering her education in EMS training in the medical field.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. There will be no burial at this time.Megan's Celebration-of-Life gathering will follow the Mass in the recreation room at St. Mary.
Friends may celebrate and share stories of Megan's life with the family on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin.
