Obituary

Michael 'Mick' Gaietto, 84, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, July 16, 2010, at his home.

On May 17, 1926, he was born in Tiffin to Peter and Teresa (Sabolo) Gaietto. November 24, 1949, he married Suzette Derr in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Suzette, two daughters, Pamela Crum of Tiffin; Debra Prentiss of Newport, RI; two sons, Peter Gaietto of Cincinnati; Eric Gaietto of San Francisco, CA; son-in-law, Terry Adams of Findlay; two brothers, Raymond (Frances) Gaietto and Paul (Mary Ann) Gaietto; a sister-in-law, Helen Gaietto, all of Tiffin; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Josh (Erica) Crum; Mackenzie (Allan) Adelman; Alexandra and Lincoln Prentiss; Jordan, Jonathan and Jeremi Gaietto, and Samuel Adams; and five great-grandchildren who will greatly miss their 'Papa Teeth'.

Preceding him in death along with his parents is a brother, James 'Jocko' Gaietto; two sisters, Lucy Marra and Antonette Smith; infant sister, Dominica Gaietto; and a daughter, Andrea Adams.

Mick graduated from Calvert in 1944 and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Corson in South Pacific from 1944-1946. He worked as a pipe fitter for Local 50, retiring in 1991. He was a member of VFW Post 2858 and loved spending time with his family and his friends at the club. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his many hobbies, including baking cookies, making popcorn and his handy man skills.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Rev. Eric Culler officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian wake service will be 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
