Michael R. "Mike" Homan, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, February 15, 2013 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born on November 24, 1945 in Tiffin, Ohio to Merle R. and Betty Jane (Crist) Homan. On July 20, 1968, he married Judy Kay Smith.
Survivors include his mother, Betty; wife, Judy; son, Chris (Kelly) Homan of Plain City; sister, Malinda (Frank) Perna of Tiffin; 2 grandchildren, Kennedi and Tenley Homan; and an expected grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mike was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1964 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. He worked for 37 years as a machinist at National Machinery and American Fine Sinter for 10 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard in Tiffin for 6 years, Knights of Columbus, and AmVets Post 48 in Tiffin. Mike enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing on the K of C League, attending Tiffin Calvert football and basketball games, vacationing with family and spending time with his friends he made over the years. Mike loved his family, especially his granddaughters.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with family from 5:00-9:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake service will begin at 4:30 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools Athletic Boosters, FACT, and Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
