Mildred Fern Larsen, 99, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, December 15, 2011 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.
On July 31, 1912, in Ponca, NE, she was born to Pearl and Amber (Moomey) Heaton. She married Kenneth William Larsen in June of 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include one son; Kenneth (Linda) Larsen of Rockford, MI; daughter-in-law, Freddie Larsen of Tiffin, OH; sisters, Betty Phare, Edith Baxter and Mabel Leeper and sister-in-law, Jeri Shuberg all of Michigan; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary Larsen on December 22, 2010; brothers, Ellsworth Heaton and Carl Shuberg; sisters, Esther Nehmer, Florence Frederick and infant sister, Ruth Shuberg; and one great grandchild.
Mildred graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1931. She lived in Florida for over twenty years and moved to Tiffin in 2000. She attended Trinity United Church of Christ. While living in Florida, she taught line dancing.
According to her wishes, there will be no visitation and burial will be at a later date in Second Congregational United Church of Christ Memory Garden in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
