Muriel Maria Haley, 79, of Tiffin, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2008, at her residence.
On Aug. 24, 1929, in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, she was born to Richard and Margaret (Foster) Hall. She married Brian Haley Sr., on Aug. 18, 1952, in St. Francis Church in Bradford, England.
Survivors include her husband, Brian, of 56 years, of Tiffin; son, Brian (Trish) Haley Jr. of Tiffin; two brothers, Matthew Hall of Bradford, England, and Richard Hall of Dexter, Mich.; four sisters, Sadie Howland, Margaret (Fred) Foster, Mary (Gerald) Tallant and Ann Stead all of Bradford; and four granddaughters, Ann (Matthew) Hagedorn, Jennifer, Emma and Laura Haley.
Mrs. Haley worked in England for the Brackendale Co. as an accounts secretary. She was a city and county table tennis champion and enjoyed the theater. In 1991, she moved to Tiffin with her husband to spend time with her son and daughter-in-law and her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial is to follow in the parish cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Friends may visit at the church on 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the Sisters of St. Francis.
