Obituary

Naomi Ley, 92, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday morning, October 2, 2015 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 28, 1922, in Bascom, Ohio, to Charles and Clara (Brickner) Ley.

Survivors include three nieces, Shirley Peabody, Janet Matteson and Joann Warnement; nephew, Lonnie Ley; many great nieces and nephews; and many great, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Carl Ley; sisters, Geraldine Unterbrink and Mary Ley; nieces, Marlene Camochi and Susan Linenfelser; and nephews, Eugene Ley, Jr. and Steve Ley.

Naomi was the youngest of five children and at the age of four was a polio survivor, which contributed to her strength of character. She was a member of SS Patrick & Andrew Church, graduated from Hopewell Loudon High School in 1939 and later from Tiffin Business College; where she was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority. The Great Depression had a tremendous impact on Naomi resulting in her strong work ethic. She was a secretary at General Electric, retiring after 40 years, and when GE closed in Tiffin, she was the last one to turn off the lights. Naomi enjoyed taking care of the home she was born in, traveling with her sister Mary visiting 49 states, missing the 50th because she did not want to travel over the "Big Pond". Naomi always thought of others and prayer was very important to her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at Noon on Monday, October 12, 2015 at SS Patrick & Andrew Church with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Following a luncheon at the church, burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
