Nick W. Trapp Sr., 91, of Tiffin, died Monday afternoon, March 30, 2009, at his home.
May 27, 1917, he was born in Kenton, KY., to George L. and Bessie (Baker) Trapp. February 4, 1941, he married Evelyn Speck in Tiffin.
Survivors include a son, Jim F. (Barb) Trapp of Tiffin, three daughters, Joyce Reid of Roswell, NM., Elaine (Gary) Mielke of Lady Lake, FL., and Lerona Wilson of Georgetown, TX, two daughters-in-law, Sussette Trapp and Luz Trapp, both of Tiffin, 19 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife, Evelyn, on January 20, 2001, are two sons, Lonny Trapp in 2007, Nick W. Trapp Jr. in 1999, two brothers, George and Blaine Trapp, five sisters, Eleanor, Gladys, Lucille, Pauline and Loretta, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Nick was a 1935 Junior Home graduate and a member of First Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Basic Refractories in 1977, after 35 years, having previously farmed and work at National Machinery. He loved and enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to flea markets, feeding the birds, watching sports and rooting for the Cleveland Browns. He collected baseball cards, arrowheads and stamps.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 6-8 PM, Thursday, April 2, or 9-11 Friday, April 4, 2009, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
