Norma Jean Cornett, 81, of Tiffin went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital. There she was greeted by her husband of 58 years Odis "Toby" Cornett who passed in March of 2009.


Norma was born on May 12, 1932 in Letcher County, Whitesburg, KY, to James and Lenie (Cook) Halcomb.


She is survived by 3 children, Timothy (Rose) Cornett of Melmore, Jennifer Davis of Tiffin, Denise (Jeremey) Welch of Lexington, KY; 5 grandchildren, Tim and Joe Cornett, Chris Davis, Mindy Ginnever, Jason Welch; 7 great grandchildren, Kearston, Martina, Jessalynn, Alainna, Austin and Holden Cornett, Norah Ginnever; sister Lillian Faye Mohr of LaBelle, FL; brother, James Halcomb of Tiffin.


She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 sisters, Ollie Pentz and Emaline Ison; brother Lenville "Pete" Halcomb.


Norma attended Eighth Ave Freewill Baptist Church and worked at Tiffin Developmental Center as a supervisor, retiring after 25 years. She loved to cook and made sure who ever stopped by for a visit was well fed, even if they weren't hungry!


Her funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Eighth Ave Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Clifford Tyree and Rev. Paul Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.


Friends may visit with the family from the 2-6:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and again from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Friday, January 10, 2014.


Memorial Contributions may be made to Eighth Ave Freewill Baptist church or Adams Township Freewill Baptist Church.
