Norma Mae Wilkinson, 94, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Elmwood at the Shawhan.
She was born on July 7, 1929, to George Clifford and Zellah Mae (Bare) Houpt and lived in Seneca County all her life.
A graduate of McCutchenville High School, Class of 18, in 1949. After graduation, she worked at American Clay Forming Co. in the office, and this is where she met her future husband. On June 25, 1949, Calvin E. Wilkinson and Norma were married at Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville, by Rev. William Kissel.
Norma is survived by her children, Shirley Ann (Howard) Koehl of Tiffin, Dennis Edward (Debora) Wilkinson of Tiffin and Janice Kay (Craig Decker) Brown of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Leslie Ann (Jessie Catherine) Koehl of Cincinnati, Aaron Christopher (Meranda) Koehl of Tiffin, Jessica Alane (Joe Miller) Wilkinson of Whitehouse, and Karissa Lynn Brown and Matthew Lynn Brown, both of Charlotte, NC; six great grandchildren, Jacob Anthony Koehl, Aiden Joseph Koehl, and Alexander George Koehl, all of Tiffin, Alivia Noel Miller of Whitehouse and Ella Mae Brown of Waterford, MI; Stephanie Hope Brown of Benson, MI.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin E. Wilkinson; sisters, Mary Herbert, and Elva Louise Aller, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Brown.
Norma worked at Harold's Department Store as a switchboard operator and cashier and at Tiffin Farmer's Co-op for 34 years as a secretary and cashier. This was a second home where Norma enjoyed the work and the wonderful people. On June 30, 1991, she retired to enjoy her family, traveling and bowling.
She was a member of the Allen Eiry Senior Center, former member of Tiffin Moose Lady and long-time member of the English Lutheran Church until transferring to Family of Faith. Norma enjoyed the activities of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in baseball, basketball, swimming, and soccer. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and especially Ohio State football. She loved those games.
Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Philip Moerdyk officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family of Faith or Allen Eiry Senior Center.
