Norman L. Heck, age 78, of Tiffin, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 05, 2011 at 1:00am
at his home after a lengthy battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
He was born on February 17, 1933 in Carey, Ohio to Howard D. and Valeria (Ranger) Heck, both of whom are deceased. He married Shirley M. Hughes on July 28, 1951 in Hicksville, Ohio and she survives.
Norman is survived by 2 sons; Dallas (Sue) Heck of Tiffin and Dennis Heck of Versailles, Kentucky along with 4 grandchildren; Eric Heck, Rachel Heck, Angela Heck, Stephanie Heck and a great grandson, Wyatt Heck. He is also survived by his sister in law, Janet Heck, of Carey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters Donna Lu and Denise Lynn who died in infancy and a brother Reid Heck.
Norman had worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio in Tiffin as a service man specializing in air conditioning, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #94 and a member of Moose Lodge #846, both located in Tiffin.
Norman was a talented craftsman who could fix anything. He loved to travel especially spending time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his compassion and servant's heart toward helping others in anyway that he could.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hoffman-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday and will be private.
