Oliver Junior King, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday evening, April 16, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born on January 18, 1922, in Tiffin, OH, to Oliver and Ida (Creeger) King. On January 14, 1945, in Hopewell First Church of God, he married Luella Fern Stine.

Survivors include his wife, Luella; son, Curtis (Lisa) King of Tiffin; 2 daughters, Marcia (Greg) Neff of Sugarcreek and Karen (Dave) Beleny of Tiffin; 4 grandchildren, Kelly (Doug) Burtscher, Kimberly (Greg) Balychev, David Beleny and Alexander Beleny; and 1 great grandchild, Brody Burtscher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Cecil and Mark King.

Oliver graduated in 1940 from Tiffin Columbian High School and was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church; where he was a Sunday school teacher for teen youth. He was a lifelong farmer and active in several farm organizations. He was a member of the Hopewell Loudon School board for 20 years, the Bascom Lions Club, was a for 4-H advisor for 22 years, and was a trustee for the Bascom United Methodist Church and other boards. In 1999, he was inducted into the first class of the Hopewell Loudon Hall of Fame. Oliver loved woodworking and old cars.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Bascom United Methodist Church with Pastor Cal Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 2-4:00 P.M. and 5-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Bascom United Methodist Church.
