Patricia J. Phillips, 63, of Tiffin, died Tuesday evening, September 2, 2008 at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
On April 4, 1945, she was born to Herman J. and Lolagene (Ohler) Frisch. On July 23, 1966 she married James Phillips in St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include 5 grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Andrew Phillips of Katy, TX; Alexander and Kaitlyn Phillips of Lima, OH; her husband of 42 years, mother, Lolagene, both of Tiffin, two sons, Stephen R. (Leslie) Phillips of Katy, TX; Gregory J. (Danice) Phillips of Lima, OH; brothers, H. Joseph (Joann) Frisch of Catawba Island, OH; David A. (Lisa) Frisch of St. Clairesville, OH; sisters, Jane (Gerald) Dendinger of Toledo, OH; Anne (Michael) Beat of Wellington, OH; and Kay (Rodger) Barth of Upper Sandusky.
Pat was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Carol Sue Daniel on April 16, 2007.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pat graduated from Tiffin Calvert in 1963 and from St. Rita School of Nursing in 1966. She continued her education graduating from Heidelberg College with a B.S. in 1987 and an M.B.A. from Tiffin University in 1995. Her nursing career started in 1966 working as a Staff Nurse at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin until 1972, later working for Dr. Anthony Lupica and Dr. Robert R. Pagarigan as an Office Nurse until 1980. The following 9 years as a Nursing Coordinator for the Seneca County Health Dept. Pat returned to Mercy Hospital of Tiffin in 1989 as the Director of Staff Development and in 1993 was a key figure in developing and operating the Mercy Home Health Dept. in Willard and Tiffin as the Director.
Pat was a member of the Tiffin Kiwanis Club since 1994, holding the offices of Vice-President, President Elect, and President. A past member of the Kiwanis Board of Directors and Kiwanis Manor Board of Directors, she also represented the club at Divisional and District events and functions, serving as a voting delegate to the International Convention and Several Ohio District Conventions.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her grandchildren, and being a member of the St. Rita's School of Nursing Alumni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be prayed on Monday, 15 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may join the family and celebrate her life on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St. 419-447-2424.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, or Community Hospice Care.
