Patrick J. Ledwedge, 80, of McCutchenville, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home.

On October 14, 1943, he was born to Robert and Mary (Colatruglio) Ledwedge in Tiffin, Ohio. He married Leora Byrne on July 2, 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Leora, of McCutchenville; sons, Robert (Joan) Ledwedge of Tiffin, Patrick Ledwedge Jr. of Tiffin, Michael (Christi) Ledwedge of Le Mesa, CA and Joseph (Laura) Ledwedge of Sellersburg, IN; stepsons, Michael (Shannon) Byrne of Tiffin, and Gregory (Caroline Price) Byrne of Fremont; sisters, Mary "Katie" (Robert) Goshe of Fostoria, Fran (David) Ritzler of Findlay and Joanie (William) Kagy of Plain City; 13 grandchildren; one step great grandson; and one great granddaughter, Willow on the way.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and many family dogs. Some of his favorite dogs were Maggie who he gave a role in "The Miracle Worker" and Buster who was a great Pal.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and was a 1961 graduate of Tiffin Calvert. Pat graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Heidelberg College. He was a founding member of the Ritz Players and acted in and directed and played guitar in plays and musical productions for over 30 years. Many of these productions were plays that his sons had backstage and onstage roles that added to the quality of his productions.   He wrote a musical "25 Words or Less" which he directed at Old Fort High School. Early in his acting career he played Ben Franklin in the Musical "1776". His last play at the Ritz was the "The Miracle Worker". The play received a standing ovation which never happens for a straight play.  Pat was also musically talented and played the bass guitar in many local bands. Pat loved to play guitar and sing with his wife and his friend Dave Harms under the name Tinsel at Christmas time at area nursing homes.

As a college graduate, Pat was able to become a substitute teacher in Tiffin and the surrounding area.  As someone who loved to teach young people, he will now be teaching by donating his body to the Anatomy Department of Ohio State.  It was his hope that this choice would help the next generation of medical people be the best in the world.

A Celebration of Patrick's life will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 04, 2024 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 8919 S. SR 53, McCutchenville, Ohio 44844
