Paul H. 'Corky' Hanson, 81, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, September 15, 2010, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
On November 4, 1928, he was born in Fremont to Peter H. and Edna M. (Chapman) Hanson. On July 16, 1948, he married Shirley A. Channels.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley; two daughters, Deb (Dale) Treier of Findlay; and Paula (Don) Harrison of Sylvania; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Vroonland; Shawn Treier; Brent Harrison and Kelly (Jim) McNellis; and two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Evan Vroonland.
Preceding him in death along with his parents are three sisters, Winifred Jeanette; Eloise Herring and Eleanor Addis.
Corky was a 1948 graduate of Bettsville High School. He was an electrician for Basic Refractories for 35 years, retiring in 1985 and a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Moose Lodge 84, Allen Eiry Senior Center and Golden Threads at Fremont Hospital. He was a lifetime Bettsville volunteer fireman and enjoyed traveling, golfing and carving wood.
Graveside services are 12:00 - Noon, Monday, September 20, 2010, at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort, with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.
