Obituary

Paul J. Gaietto, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, September 28, 2012 at Volunteers of America Autumwood Care Center.

He was born on April 8, 1932, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Peter and Teresa (Sabolo) Gaietto. On September 18, 1954, he married Mary Ann Borer and she survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Gary (Mary Ann) Gaietto, Ken Paul (Lela) Gaietto, Jaime Gaietto and Bob (Laura) Gaietto, all of Tiffin; three daughters, Anne (Bill) Focht of Charlotte, NC, Lynne (Steve) Everhart and Paulette (Jeff) Colatruglio, both of Tiffin; brother, Raymond (Frances) Gaietto of Tiffin; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Sue Gaietto, both of Tiffin; 22 Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren, and one expected soon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James "Jacko" and Michael D. "Mick" Gaietto; and sisters, Lucy Marra, Antonette "Tony" Smith and infant sister, Dominica Gaietto.

Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School in 1951. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from December 8, 1951 to December 7, 1955, during the Korean War. He was a mechanic at Mohawk Motors for over 15 years, Klay Tire and Tiffin Enterprise for a few years. He retired as co-owner in 1995 from Morton Trucking. After retirement, he worked for C & J Games. He was a member of the Tiffin Lions Club, Knights of Columbus #608, Tiffin Elks Lodge #94 and the Eagles Aerie #402. Paul enjoyed landscaping, farming, bowling and latch hooking. He was a role model to his family, friends and many others. Through his umpiring for years and as Commissioner of Tiffin's Men's Baseball for 10 years; he was influential and inspiring to others.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-8 P.M. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake service will begin at 1:15 PM.
