Obituary

Paul V. Huss, Sr., 91, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at St. Francis Home.

He was born on March 26, 1921, in Tiffin, Ohio to Arthur J. and Bertha (Bolander) Huss. He married Amabilis "Dee" Demonte on February 2, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic Church and she preceded him in death on October 5, 2012.

Survivors include 3 sons, Paul V. (Paula) Huss, Jr. of Tiffin, Charles P. (Linda) Huss of Dunbar, WV, and James R. (Michelle) Huss of Palm Harbor, FL; 3 daughters, Judith K. (Dean) Walliser of Lancaster, Susan E. (John) Wampler of Union and Mary Ann Rumschlag of Clearwater, FL; brother, Bernard Huss of Cleveland; 3 sisters, Agnes (Charles) Roth of Tiffin, Rita (Richard) Kappus of Toledo, and Helen (Gene) Packham of Indianapolis, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 expected great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Bill, John and Tom Huss; and 1 sister Pat Hager.

Paul attended St. Joseph grade school and graduated in 1940 from Calvert High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and served 18 months in Alaska and later served 17 months in India. He was a chief stock clerk at National Machinery retiring in 1983 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and assisted the church with funerals and was also a member of Tiffin Moose Lodge #846, Eagles Aerie #402, V.F.W. Tiffin Post #2858, Kof C #608, American Legion Post 169, Holy Name Society, Serra Club, Calvert Athletic Boosters, and served on Tiffin City Council for 10 years. Paul enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, playing cards and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. The National Machinery Quarter Century club will meet in body at 7:00 P.M. A Christian Wake service will begin at 4:30 P.M.
