Obituary

Paul R. Mack, 92, of New Riegel, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his home.

He was born on February 21, 1930, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Floyd Earl and Cynthia (Lyman) Mack.  On January 13, 1951, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Coletta Miller.

Survivors include his wife of almost 72 years, Coletta Mack of New Riegel; five sons, Dennis (Lynn) Mack of New Riegel, Joe (Kim) Mack of Sycamore, Mark (Judy) Mack of New Riegel, Pat (Darlene) Mack of Carey and Randy Mack of Alvada; two daughters, Mary (Larry) Mathias of New Riegel and Sandy (Jeff) Lang of Fostoria; two sisters, Georgeanne Albright of Findlay and Mary Jane Reinbolt, of Tiffin; 22 grandchildren; and  23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Earl Mack and Cynthia Hushour; infant daughter, Theresa Mack; five brothers, Floyd "Red" Mack, John Mack, William Mack, Donald Mack and Robert L. Mack; and sister, Ida May Seifert.

Paul served in the United States Army from March 18, 1951 to December 19, 1952.  He was the former owner of the New Riegel Elevator for over 50 years and was a member of All Saints Parish (former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown).  He was also a member of the New Riegel American Legion Post 354 and New Riegel Moose #872.  Paul was a generous, hardworking, humble man who enjoyed talking to everyone.  He was a good story teller, had many friends, enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, traveling the world, visiting Australia, Brazil and Europe and going on cruises.  He frequented auctions and square dancing in his early years.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at All Saints Parish with Rev. Timothy Kummerer and Rev. Ronald Schock officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.allsaints-parish.com .  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the New Riegel American Legion.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
