Paul R. Steinmetz, 59, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2011 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo.

On August 8, 1951 in Tiffin, OH; he was born to Vincent C. and Yvonne G. "Bonnie" (Bollinger) Steinmetz. He married Mary Blust and they later divorced.

Survivors include his mother, Bonnie of Tiffin; a son, Mike (Melody) Steinmetz of Fort Seneca; brothers, James M. Steinmetz of Carey, OH; Thomas L. (Rita) Steinmetz of Kansas, OH; Stephen L. and Larry F. Steinmetz both of Tiffin; a sister, Mary Ellen (Bill) Snyder of Tiffin; 4 grandchildren, Chyanne, Brittney, Gwendilyn, and Brayden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent in 2008.

Paul was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, attended Hopewell Loudon School and graduated from New Reigel High School in 1969. He farmed his entire life and drove school bus for Tiffin City Schools for over 20 years. Paul enjoyed farming, reading, playing on his computer, and was an Ohio State University sports fan He was a member of VFW Post 2858 and Tiffin Moose Lodge 846.

A funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.
