Obituary

Pauline Dewald, 84, of Tiffin and formerly of Bascom, passed away Thursday morning, March 10, 2011 at her home.

She was born April 11, 1926 in Tiffin to William H. and Irene (Feasel) Snyder. On December 14, 1954 she married Francis P. Dewald who passed away November 13, 2006.

Pauline is survived by her children, Ronald of Toledo; Robert E. of Findlay; Chris (Paula) of Tiffin; Roxane of Findlay; Ruthee (Tim) of Tiffin; Ricque S. (Heidi) of Hebron, KY; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are siblings, Dorothy Hill of Findlay; Willard Snyder of Kansas, OH; Donald Snyder of Bowling Green; Percy J. Snyder of Fargo, ND; Arnold Snyder of Stearns, KY; Barbara Shaffer of Colorado; step brother, Ray Matthews; step sisters, Mary Ann Forstner, Beverly Hoover, Alice Tuttle, and Susan E. Gibson all of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step father, Dorsey Matthews, daughter, Rachel M. Dewald, grandson, Robbie E. Dewald, siblings, Donna Jean Saxion, Betty Kerr, William H. Snyder, Chester Snyder, and infants, Brooke N. and Valerie E. Snyder, step siblings, Norma R. McDonald, Dick Matthews, Cheryl Matthews, and Lloyd Matthews.

Mrs. Dewald was active in the Tiffin First Church of the Nazarene her entire life and an administrative assistant for 30 years at several local businesses; Quincy Manufacturing, Joe Wade Insurance and Sacksteder Insurance Agency. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading the Bible. She and Francis instilled values and ethics while raising their family. After retirement in 1988, they enjoyed 18 winters in Yuma, AZ.

Her funeral service will be Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11:00 am the Tiffin First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John Wildman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2-8 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tiffin First Church of the Nazarene or to Community Hospice Care.
