Pauline I. 'Polly' (Sperow) Hohman, 89, of Bascom, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011, at her home.
She was born November 3, 1921, in Bascom, to Samuel Oscar and Clara B. (Kime) Sperow. She married Robert C. Hohman November 29, 1941, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom.
Survivors include a son, John C. (Kay) Hohman of The Woodlands, Texas; a daughter, Nancy L. Hohman of Bascom; three grandchildren, Shelly Biggert, Greg Hohman and Aaron Hohman; six great-grandchildren, Jadon, Trent, Bryce, Hayden, Drew and Cameron.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Robert, on October 11, 2003; are three brothers, Ellis, Kenneth and Wayne Sperow, and three sister, Carrie Feurer; Hazel Spero; and Alice Tanner.
Polly was a 1939 graduate of Columbian High School and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She retired from General Electric after 31 years as a winder and also worked at Gem Mfg. in Bascom. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, reading books and flower gardening.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 17, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, with Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 2-5:00 PM, Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Care or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
