Phyllis Gittinger, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday evening, May 29, 2011 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born November 23, 1924, in Tiffin, to Ralph W. & Hilda (Ready) Fox. She married Jack D. Gittinger on March 9, 1945.

Survivors include two sons; Dr. Jack D.(Josephine)Gittinger of Norwalk, IA and Ralph W. Gittinger of Huron, OH; two daughters, Linda (Larry) Cole and Debra K. (Thomas J.) Shuman both of Tiffin; eight grand-children, Jodi, Lisa, Chad, Christie, Erin, Thomas, Jaxon & Jessica and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband in 1971 and three brothers, William, Kenneth & Richard Fox.

Phyllis was a 1943 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and worked for Ballreich Potato Chips for 33 years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed reading, sewing, watching TV. and was an OSU fan. She was very involved with her family and loved them very much.

A Funeral Service will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, with Minister Curt Gallmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
