R. Pauline Bird, 101, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on May 7, 1914, in Mt. Jackson, VA, to Elias B. and Rachel (Webb) Whitmer. On February 7, 1942, she married Martin White Eagle Bird, Jr.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Bird and Richard (Bonnie) Bird, both of Tiffin; three daughters, Claudia (Michael) Scholl and Paula (Ralph Turner) Bird, both of Tiffin and Alana (Michael) Burton of Old Fort; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 11 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; three daughters, Norma Jean Bird and infant twins, Virginia and Ann; two brothers, George and Marion; sister, Virginia; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Bird.
Pauline worked at Tiffin Glasshouse and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, making wine, shopping and animals; especially cats. She was proud to have reached 100 years old and still live in her home by her herself. Pauline loved spending time with her family.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the funeral home.
