Ralph C. "Doc" Monaco, 57, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2011 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital

He was born on February 15, 1954, in Tiffin to Joseph A. & Dora Ines (Deblasio) Monaco.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelby Monaco of Tiffin; two brothers, Joseph (Marcia) Monaco of Martinsville, NJ and Jerry Monaco of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Tina Wise of Tiffin; nieces and nephew, Jamie, Alyson, Angelena and Joe; and great niece, Alexis.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph in 1984, mother, Dora in 2010 and brother, Anthony Monaco in 2006.

Ralph graduated in 1972 from Tiffin Calvert High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Mt. Union College and later his master's Degree. He was a teacher and basketball coach at St. Mary Catholic School and also taught with the Clyde-Green Springs and Mohawk school districts. He retired after more than 20 years. Doc was a member of the K of C and a devoted Democrat, supporting the party, running for Mayor and also 3rd Ward Council. He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, and baseball cards, and had a historical interest in collecting political artifacts, especially from the John F. Kennedy, Jr. era.

A funeral service will be Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)447-2424, with Rev. Rex King officiating. Burial will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 4-8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
