Ralph Zimmerman, Jr., 80, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday evening, September 7, 2014 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born on September 27, 1933, in Tiffin, to Ralph and Nora (King) Zimmerman, Sr. On September 9, 1957, he married Margie Gates.
Survivors include his wife, Margie of 56 years; his son, Mark (Kelly) Zimmerman, Sr. of Fort Seneca; 2 grandchildren, Margaret Ann Zimmerman of Shelby, Mark Alan (Jeanette) Zimmerman, Jr. of Old Fort; 4 great grandchildren, Riley, Jaelyn, Isiah, and Dylan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Zimmerman; 2 sisters, Mary Porter, Dorothy Mason and an infant sister.
Ralph served in the United States Army during the Korean War where in the Tenth Infantry Division. He worked at Basic Refractories, Porter Motors and retired from Luce Motors after many years. Ralph enjoyed fishing, camping, senior bus trips, going to the horse races and casinos around the area and was a Cleveland Browns and Detroit Tigers fan.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Mark Boedecker officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or charity of donor's choice.
