Ralph M. Szablewski, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, September 13, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 13, 1936, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Edmund and Mary (Blaes) Szablewski. On August 22, 1959, he married Teresa Nye. They celebrated their 65th wedding Anniversary last month with their family.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Szablewski, of Tiffin; children, Michael (Lee) Szablewski, of Tiffin, Lisa (Gary) Werling, of Waterville, Ohio, Joseph (Rui) Szablewski, of Pensacola, Florida, Steven Szablewski, of Tiffin, Anne (David) Hu, of Grove City, Ohio, David (Nina) Szablewski, of Dublin, Ohio, Laura (Steven) Crumbacher, of Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren, Anthony (Taylor) Szablewski, of Tiffin, Aurora Szablewski, of Tiffin, Andrea (Shawn) Neikirk, of Tiffin, Alex (Raegen) Szablewski, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michael Werling, of Findlay, Ohio, Joseph Szablewski, of Orlando, Florida, Susan (Logan) Gordon, of Logan, Ohio, Ryan (Hanna) Szablewski, of Tiffin, Joshua Szablewski, of Tiffin, Parker Szablewski, of Tiffin, Nicole (Austin Burns) Davisson, of New Riegel, Ohio, Jasper Hu, of Grove City, Ohio, Adelaide Hu, of Grove City, Ohio, Drean Szablewski, of Dublin, Ohio, Alexandra (Shane Allan) Crumbacher, of Grove City, Ohio, Dominic Crumbacher, of Grove City, Ohio; great grandchildren, River, Stetson, Mercedes, Gwen, Sebashtian, Isla, Thea, Maribel and Hudson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Szablewski and Edmund Szablewski; sisters, Phyllis Sturdevant, Martha Lewis, Charlotte Schumm, and Barbara Fair.
Ralph was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a 1954 graduate of Calvert High School. He worked at Whirlpool for 29 years. Ralph was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching Ridiculousness. He was a storyteller, often reflecting on his earlier years. Ralph also enjoyed annual trips to Myrtle Beach, where he celebrated his 88th birthday earlier this year.
His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes before Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, or to Calvert Catholic Schools.
