Regina Rose "Jeanie" Lucius, 89, of Tiffin and formerly of New Riegel, passed away Wednesday morning, August 28, 2013 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born on April 11, 1924, in New Riegel, Ohio, to Joseph Paul and Minnie Crescent (Collins) Stark. On June 19, 1944 in St. Aloysius Church in Republic, she married John Urban Lucius, they later divorced and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann (Raymond) Bakies of Rural Tiffin; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Judith Rose Lucius in 1965; and 6 brothers, Clarence Louis, Charles, Milton, Paul, Oliver and John Stark.
Jeanie graduated from Republic High School and retired from General Electric and Seneca County Commission on Aging. While living in New Riegel, she was a member of All Saints Parish and then was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church after moving to Tiffin 15 years ago. She enjoyed bird watching, baking cookies for her grandchildren and playing cards; especially Euchre. Jeanie was known for her letters and cards and decorating the envelopes and she made friends with everyone.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at All Saints Parish in New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to Mass.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 8:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish, New Riegel or Elmwood Assisted Living at The Shawhan.
