Richard N. Beard, 79, of Bloomville, passed away on Thursday morning, September 2, 2021, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

On September 13, 1941, in Seneca County, Richard was born to Clifton D. and Geraldine B. (Hall) Beard.  He married Sheila A. Scherger on July 29, 1967.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, a daughter, Julie Beard of Treasure Island, FL; son, Patrick Beard of Bloomville; brother, Roger (Lou Ann) Beard of Bowling Green; sister, Linda (Bill) Musson of Pemberville many nieces and nephews, and his cat, Cash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Candace Beard in 2019.

Richard graduated from Mohawk High School, class of 1959 and worked as an electrician for Reigel Foods for 26 years.  He retired from Uni-Grip Inc. in Upper Sandusky after 13 years.  Dick and his wife mowed lawn at Rock Creek Cemetery for over 55 years, he loved being on his tractor.  Dick enjoyed watching old TV shows, listening to country music, going to tractor pulls, auto racing, especially NASCAR and raising rabbits.

His funeral will be Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Doug DeVos officiating.  Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Bloom Township Fire Department or to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
