Richard "Dick" Faber, 89, of Tiffin, passed away Friday evening, May 15, 2015 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on October 5, 1925, in Berwick, Ohio, to Henry and Goldie (Hibbits) Faber. On June 20, 1953, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, he married Lila Welly.
Survivors include his wife, Lila of Tiffin; 8 sons, Stephen (Linda) Faber, Michael Faber, Herbert (Teresa) Faber and Donald (Teresa) Faber, all of Tiffin, Joseph (Debra) Faber of Marion, twins, Jerald (Linda) Faber of Fostoria and James (Elaine) Faber of New Riegel, and Milton (Kashia) Faber of Dallas, Texas; 5 daughters, Catherine Faber, Jennifer (Charlie) Zoeller and Angela (Paul) Depinet, all of Tiffin, Mary Ann (Lamar) Dickman of Green Springs and Fran (Gregory) Kimmet of New Riegel; 34 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers; 1 sister; and infant granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Faber.
Dick served in the United States Army during Korea and World War II. He was an electrician at Atlas Crankshaft for 16 years and had 29 different jobs. His toughest job was retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post #354, St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Riegel American Legion Post #354, Pleasant Grove Grange and Pomona Grange. Dick was very talented, was a great mechanic and enjoyed fixing everything for everyone. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards; especially euchre and loved and was very proud of his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Activities Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the New Riegel American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
