Obituary

Richard Harding, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 16, 2010, at his home.

He was born February 10, 1930, in Tiffin to Irvin F. and Marian Tressa (Metzger) Harding. He married Mary Louise Mularoni April 26, 1958, in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Rectory in Sandusky.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Louise; three daughters, Cheryl (Todd) Miller of Milford MA; Alicia (Phillip) Schenk of Vineland, NJ: and Amy (Kenneth) Hill of Fostoria; a son, Dr. Mark (Kristen) Harding of Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. C. June Chapin of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Eric Miller, Phillip Schenk Jr., Elye Schenk, Morgan Hill, Hailee Hill, Hudson Hill and Erin Harding.


Preceding him in death along with his parents is an infant daughter, Michelle.

Richard was a 1948 graduate of Fostoria High School, and a 1956 graduate of Cleveland Engineering Institute. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Allen Eiry Senior Center. He proudly served in the U. S. A. F. from 1950-1954, during the Korean conflict, as an airborne radio/ECM operator. In 1957 he began his 34 year career as a tool die design engineer at National Machinery Co., retiring in 1991, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking such as making hobby horses, clocks, and bowls for family and friends.


His Mass of Christian Burial Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, November 19, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.

Friends may visit with the family 3-7 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. National Machinery Quarter Century Club will meet in body at 7:00 PM.


Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or Community Hospice Care.
