Obituary

Rita Lou Loesser, 75, beloved wife of Ed Loesser, left this world on Monday morning, May 18, 2015, to take her place with her husband in the embrace of the Lord.

She was born on July 14, 1939 and on September 21, 1957, she married Carl Gosche and he preceded her in death in 1960. On December 30, 1961, she married Edwin L. Loesser and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2015.

Survivors include her two sons, Richard Loesser of San Francisco, CA and Eddie Loesser, Jr. of Republic; four daughters, Margaret "Peg" Loesser of Jacksonville, FL, Mary (Robert) Cordell of Tiffin, Ann Therese (Rian) Myers of Republic and Rachel (Scott) Gregory of Alvada; 10 grandchildren, Katharyn Armbruster, John Micheliche, Rian Myers, Jr., Randal Myers, Rita Myers, Abigail Huffman, Christine Huffman, Grace Gregory, Sara Gregory and Evan Gregory; and 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Katelynn Armbruster, Alissa Mendenhall, Arden Englehart, Emily Myers and Eli Myers.

Rita graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School in 1957 and first was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church; where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, a reader, communion distributor and taught C.C.D. classes. She then became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a Girl Scout leader for many years at St. Joseph Catholic School. Rita was the founder of the Right to Life movement in Tiffin and was past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #402 Lady Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, reading, history; especially the Revolutionary War and loved her Shih Tzu.

Her Memorial Mass will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Activity Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Food Pantry in Republic or to a charity of the donor's choice.
