Rita Mathias, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2015 at St. Francis Home.

She was born on April 11, 1923, in Tiffin, OH, to Sylvester J. and Anna (Dietrick) Zoll. On November 26, 1942, she married Virgil Mathias and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2009.

Survivor include her son Virgil (Marlen) Mathias, III of Columbus; 3 daughters, Bonnie wink of Evansville, IN, Mary Ann (Bill Yelverton) Sheldon of Sacramento, CA and Jani (Joe) Hartzell of Tiffin; 9 grandchildren, Ann (Paul) Demery, Phillip (Lindsay) Wink, Brian (Lisa) Wink, Nicki Mathias, Neil (Kristen) Mathias, Michelle Kelly, Paul (Nadine) Hartzell, Jason and Eric Hartzell; 7 great grandchildren, Morgan and Addison Demery, Mathew and Aiden Hartzell, Cora and Colin Wink, Nolan Mathias; many nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 5 brothers Emil, Leo, Clete, Sylvester and infant brother Virgil Zoll; 2 sisters, Evelyn Grossjean, Mary Zipfel.

Rita was a 1941 graduate of Tiffin Calvert and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an honorary member of ROMEO club, enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards and volunteering for BINGO. Rita was very social and had numerous friends that she would meet at Tiffin Bake Shop.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka and Rev. Charles Ritter officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 3:30 P.M.
