Rita M. Smidutz, 86, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Fox Run Manor in Findlay, Ohio.

She was born on November 14, 1928 in Tiffin, Ohio, to Clarence and Martha (Lucius) Shultz. On October 3, 1949 she married Robert E. Smidutz.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Carol) Smidutz of Tiffin and Bruce (Susan) Smidutz of Bradford; daughter, Dawn Howard of Findlay; brother, Bob (Mary) Shultz, of Tiffin; three sisters, Barbara (Don) Roberts, Nancy (Paul) Kanney, and Betty (Marty) Findley, all of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, William E. Shultz, Louis "Jim" Shultz and an infant brother, Alfred Shultz; and two sisters, Rose Mary Zachdary and Joanne Welborn.

Rita worked at General Electric as a winder for several years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching and taking care of her family and home.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Burial will also take place on Saturday for her husband, Robert Smidutz, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2011, with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.
