Robert D. "Dale" Aurand, 88, of Tiffin, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his residence.

On March 30, 1921 he was born in Lemert to Herbert and Rosetta (Laipply) Aurand. On December 23, 1946 he married Eileane Spahr.

Survivors include a daughter, Daleane M. (Keven) Barry of Sycamore, son Robert D. 'Butch' (Denise) Aurand of Nevada, brother Calvin (Vivian) Aurand of Tiffin, sister Marilyn (Carl) Farrow of Crestline and grandchildren Jacob, Zach, and Brianna.

Preceding him in death is his wife, sisters Ethel Dickerson and Thelma Jump and brothers George, Clarence, Alvin, Wally, and Wayne Aurand.

Dale graduated from Lykens High School, Class of 1939. He later served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked on the U.S. Air Force Base in Alabama as a Civilian, retiring in 1971. Dale also worked for General Electric in Bucyrus and Pettibone in Tiffin. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, Euchre, bowling, and he enjoyed trips with the seniors at the Allen Eiry Senior Center.

A Funeral Service will be 11am, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Gary Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens with Military Graveside Services provided by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family 6-8pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the funeral home.
