Obituary

Robert C. "Bob" Clouse, 76, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on June 24, 1947, in Tiffin, Ohio to Firmin and Dorothy (Lucius) Clouse.  On October 09, 1967, in Oahu, Hawaii, he married Jane Elchert.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Clouse of Tiffin; sons, Chuck (Jenny) Clouse of Tiffin and Danny (Laura) Clouse of Ames, Iowa; daughters, Amy (Rick) Recker and Sandy (Brad) Adelsperger, both of Tiffin and Deb (Lonnie Williams) Bostock of Cleveland; brothers, Ron (Vicky) Clouse of Tiffin and Ray (Diane) Clouse of New Riegel; sisters, Darlene (Justin) Elchert of New Riegel, Donna (Ron) Gosche of Fostoria, and Denise (John) Snyder of Carey; 14 grandchildren, Alex (Brooke) Recker, Cassie (Alex) Davenport, Adam (Jenna) Recker, Josh Recker and Lucas Recker, Robbie Clouse, Tessa (Jason) Tooley, Tyler (Lizzy) Clouse, Brittany (Cole) Davidson, Allison Adelsperger, Reggie Bostock, Marty Bostock, Julia Clouse and Rachel Clouse; and nine great grandchildren, Grayson Davenport, Rose Davenport, Carmen Recker, Lena Tooley, Easton Tooley, Eli Tooley, Dawson Tooley, Grant Davidson and Mia Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard "Dick" Clouse.

Bob was a 1965 graduate of New Riegel and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He retired in 2006 after 30 years from Honeywell in Fostoria and operated a small family farm.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was an usher, The New Riegel American Legion, Tiffin Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus and enjoyed volunteering at the St. Joseph Festival.

Bob had a strong faith and was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was an avid spectator at his children's and grandchildren's events.  Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife, going on Allen Eiry bus trips, playing cards, helping his family butcher and the many woodworking projects he created.  He loved family get-togethers and especially the annual Clouse Campouts.  The weekend was spent playing games, grilling, and making great memories together.  He was known for his sense of humor, his heartfelt hugs, his creativity, his love of helping others and his pride in his country.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Coci and Rev. Gary Walters con-officiating.  A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council and the New Riegel Legion.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, A local Veteran's Group, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Calvert Catholic Schools.
