Obituary

Robert E. Wagner, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, July 6, 2015 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born on May 15, 1932, in Carey, Ohio, to Rolla and Grace (Larrick) Wagner. On May 17, 1973, he married Jean Wagner and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1999.

Survivors include his two sons, Jim R. (Cheryl) Wagner of Republic and Rick E. (Toni) Wagner of Tiffin; stepdaughter, Kathy Gundlach of Sandusky; brother, Darl Wagner of Fremont; sister, Phyllis "Sue" (Bill) Schrader of Willard; three grandchildren, twins, Rusty (Kelly) Wagner and Ryan (Nickie) Wagner and Matt Gundlach; and four great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Laura Jane Wagner; and sister, Pat Hammer.

Robert started working as a foreman in 1951 at Basic Refractories, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Basic Refractories Quarter Century Club and enjoyed sprint car races, going for long rides and riding his Harley Davidson until he was 80 years old. Robert also loved animals and enjoyed watching his granddogs.

His Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Tress Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
