Robert Earl "Bob" Rhoad, 99, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday morning, January 8, 2023, at Tiffin Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on October 25, 1923, in Seneca County, to Earl and Elsie (Ruse) Rhoad. On January 17, 1945, he married Mary Ellen Rider.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen of Tiffin; sons, Stephen (Marcia) Rhoad of Tiffin and Thomas (Kim) Rhoad of Howell, MI; daughter, Sue Ellen (Terry) Bogner of Holland, Ohio; brother, George Rhoad of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Aimee Bogner of Akron and Cory (Sarah) Bogner of Whitehouse; and two great grandchildren, Oliver Bogner and Jack Bogner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bill and John Rhoad.
Bob was a 1941 graduate of Bloomville High School. He served in the United States Army for three years in South Pacific, Korea. He was a machinist at General Electric for over 40 years and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Bob was a Boy Scout leader for ten years and was an avid fisherman and Detroit Tigers fan.
At Bob's request, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Humane Society of Seneca County or to a charity of the donor's choice.
