Robert W. Sherman, 74, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin Ohio.

He was born on January 24, 1946, in Sycamore, Ohio, to Roy W. and Anna Mae (Rapp) Sherman.  Robert was one of seven children and his mother died when he was 10 years old.  He joined the Navy at the age of 17, serving aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier for 4 years, stationed in Vietnam. His working years included the Tiffin Foundry & Machine, farming, maintenance, construction, roofing, a traveling carny, and other onerous jobs.

Robert is survived by his wife of 16 years, Theresa "Terry" (Hoffman) Sherman of Tiffin; children, Kimberly Ann, Anna Marie and Robert Jr., all of Indianapolis, Duane Michael and James Allen, both of Tiffin; stepchildren, Ryan, Bryan and Stephanie Gibson, all of Tiffin, and Mark Gibson of Elmore; oldest sister, Patricia Huffman of Springtown, TX and youngest sister, Marilyn (John) Stack of Colorado Springs CO; stepsiblings, Keith and Jackie Wickard of Old Town, FL; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Winnifred (Young) Sherman; siblings, Virginia Kay, Gerald, Carol and Larry; and stepbrother, William Wickard.

There will be no funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home or to a charity of the donor's choice.
