Robert G. Smith, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday evening, December 13, 2014 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.

On May 7, 1931 in Tiffin, he was born to Wade and Pearl (Dillard) Smith and they preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Bob Smith of Tiffin; sister, Virginia Hoffman of Tiffin; grandchildren, Kim and Eric Burger and caretaker and great niece, Joei Aragon of Tiffin.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter; Valerie Burger in 2010; daughter in law, Jane E. Smith in 2009; brothers, Don, Warren, and Owen Smith and sister, Arlene Kummerer.

Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1952. He was a machinist by trade and worked at General Electric, Tiffin Enterprise and spent most of his spare time in his garage.

There will be no visitation and services will be private.
