Obituary

Ronald J. Crum, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday evening, April 23, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

He was born on October 14, 1946, in Tiffin, Ohio, to John E. and Joyce M. (Seigley) Crum. On August 9, 1975, he married Sandra A. Fatzinger.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce of Tiffin; wife, Sandy "Sweetie"; son, Kevin (Ann) Fatzinger of Atlanta, GA; 2 daughters, Brandy (Jeff) Miller of Tiffin and Becky (Brian) Osterwalder of Marshall, MI; 2 brothers, Russell J. Crum and Dennis E. (Joanne) Crum, both of Tiffin; 2 sisters, Jayne E. (Larry) Whitesel of Junction City, OH and Jill M. Ingram, of Stow, OH; 7 grandchildren, Lori and Rachel Fatzinger, Audra, Marah and Owen Miller and Cole and Grant Osterwalder.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2001; brother, Douglas Crum in 1993; and infant granddaughter, Mary Lynn Fatzinger in 1996.

Ronald graduated in 1965 from Hopewell Louden High School and attended Tiffin University. He was drafted to the United States Air Force on March 17, 1967, serving in Vietnam and Germany. He was honorably discharged on March 11, 1971. Ronald worked at General Electric for over 20 years retiring in 1986, farmed family and area farms his entire life and was a Seneca County 4-H advisor, was on the Bascom Elevator Board and coached girl's softball for many years. He was a jokester and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling with his wife and family. Ronald was a quiet, caring person, a great dad; teaching his children all about life's challenges and life lessons and he loved everyone; especially his family. Whenever you see a farmer looking at crops, remember Ronnie.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with his cousin, Norman Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
