Rose M. Tate, 82, of Tiffin, formerly of 539 N. Washington St.,died Tuesday evening, January 27, 2009, at St. Francis Home.
August 3, 1926, she was born in Tiffin, to Oscar and Louise (Wilhelm) Bernard. February 7, 1948, she married William W. Tate.
Survivors include two sons, William C. (Kay) Tate of Republic, Richard A. (Karen) Tate of Tiffin, three daughters, Cecelia A. (David) Foncannon of Fostoria, Mary J. (Dan) Falin, Margaret R. (Dale) Shock, both of Tiffin, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, William in 1994, are a son, Joseph Tate, seven brothers, Albert, Joseph, Oscar Jr., Charles, Francis, Richard and John Bernard, and two sisters, Mary Boggs and Margaret Ann Bernard.
Rose was a 1944 graduate of Calvert High School a member of Calvert Alumni Association and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a machinist at General Electric and worked at Mercy Hospital. She was involved in the Babe Ruth Baseball League for 25 years and volunteered many years at Mercy Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2009 at St. Francis Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family 7-9 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, or 11:30 - 1:00 PM, Friday at St. Francis Home Chapel.
Memorial contributions can be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Alzheimer Association.
