Ruth E. Eichhorn, 231 Mohawk Street died Wednesday evening, October 1, 2008 at Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Care Center.
Ruth was born June 29, 1919 to the late Earnest and Mary Fogle in Marion County, Ohio. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1937. She married Kenneth G. Eichhorn on September 12, 1940 in Marion, Ohio. He died April 22, 1968 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
She is survived by three children, John (Donna) Eichhorn of Odessa, Missouri; Joan (Thomas) Williams of Sylvania, Ohio; Dorotha J. Eichhorn of Villa Grove, Colorado; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren who reside in Alabama, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina and West Virginia. Also a brother Charles Fogle of Marion, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her brother David Fogle of LaRue, Ohio.
Her late husband and Ruth owned and operated the Eichhorn Implement Store in Tiffin from 1946-1963. She continued to work in sales until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mother's Circle, the Allen Eiry Senior Center and a volunteer of Better Jane.
The body has been cremated at her request.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11am.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service from 10am until 11am at the funeral home. There will be a private burial at Chapel Heights Memorial Garden, north of Marion, Ohio.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, Community Hospice Care, 181 E. Perry St., Tiffin, Ohio, or to the donor's choice.
