Ruth A. Gruss, 90, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 10, 2016 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on August 30, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Clarence and Corine (Schock) Goshe. On November 28, 1946, she married Harold E. Gruss and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2012.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Beth) Gruss of Tiffin and Robert Gruss of Tiffin; and four grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Gruss, Johnathan (Brandie) Gruss, Angela (Isaac) Allison and Brandon Gruss.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Goshe; and three sisters, Hazel Wise, Norma Jean Goshe and Chadyne Desgrange.

Ruth graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School and retired from General Electric after 40 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, listening to Elvis Presley and going to garage sales. Ruth was very proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
