Ruth E. Carroll, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at St. Francis Home.

She was born on June 08, 1935, in Seneca County, Ohio, to Buford and Anna (Slater) Rakes. She married Loran Carroll and they later divorced.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Donna) Carroll of Fort Worth, TX and Dave (Michelle) Carroll of Frisco, TX; daughter, Lori (Mike) Lenhoff of Tiffin; son-in-law, Todd Atkin of Woodville;  brothers, Dallas Rakes of Clyde, Gilbert Rakes of Fremont and Neil (Cheryl) Rakes of Thornton, CO; sister, Carol (Mike) Lieske of Green Springs; 10 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 8 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christine Atkin; and sister, Gretta Rakes;

Ruth was a graduate of Clyde High School and attended Kent State University.  She worked at Kessler Sales in Fremont and later at Green Springs Nursery.  She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, an avid reader, loved going to garage sales, shopping, traveling to see family, baking Apple Dumplings and enjoyed many years with her friend, Bill.

Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor Barb Osborn officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Service on Monday at the funeral home.
