Ruth G. Swisher, 100, of Fostoria, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born on November 20, 1911, in Bascom, Ohio, to John and Frances (Baldauf) Brickner. One May 7, 1960, she married George Swisher, and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1981.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Laurent, Roman, Michael, Robert, Ralph, Wade and Cletus; two sisters, Mabel Sager and Evelyn Reindl; and niece and good friend, Martha Sager.

Ruth was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She worked at General Electric for many years as a press operator and at Continental Can Company in Van Wert. She enjoyed playing cards, attending church festivals and "lawn fates".

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.
