Sandra (Sandy) L. Hagen, 67, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
On January 25, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, she was born to Ralph Burke and Eunice (Burke) Rodgers. She married Dennis E. Hagen on January 14, 1961.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, a son, Scott (Sally) Hagen of St. Louis, Missouri and a daughter Karri Hagen-Meachan of Tiffin; mother, Eunice (Burke)Rodgers of Shelby, Montana; 3 grandchildren, Dana & Patrick Hagen & Devin Meachan; 2 sisters, Cheryl Whiting (Val) of Kearns, Utah and Susan Smith (Jim) of Shelby, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Burke and a sister, Cathy Habits.
Sandy was of Lutheran faith, serving on various committees and as a Sunday school teacher at many Lutheran churches in California, Texas, Montana and Washington before moving to Tiffin 5 years ago. Sandy was active on social networks, staying connected with her friends and family throughout the country and loved to fish; always catching the first, biggest and most fish. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading, cooking, and entertaining. The most important part of Sandy's life was being a mother, wife and grandmother. She was always there for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2001 from 12:00 -1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1:00 pm at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev Roger Giese officiating. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held in Shelby, Montana in July with a burial following. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Autism Society or The American Heart Foundation.
