Shawn Lewis Thompson, 59, of Risingsun, Ohio, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his home.

He was born on February 7, 1962, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Paul and Lenora (Day) Thompson. On November 20, 1990, he married Deborah Hively and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2021.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Lenora Thompson of Bloomville, Ohio: brother, Steve (Vicki) Thompson of Attica; sister, Cindy (Dan) Zachman of Bloomville; Stepson, James (Amanda) Wagner of Defiance; three step-grandchildren, Mattea, Lillian and Elliott; and two step-great grandchildren, Hope and Serenity; five nephews, a niece, and several great nieces and nephews.

Shawn was a 1980 graduate of Mohawk High School and served in the Army National Guard for 24 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, family get-togethers and tinkering in his garage.

Services will be private and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
